Concise purpose

To have a better control of the cash register.

Application type

Automatic, sequence of pictures.

Purpose

Shoplifting is a big problem for many shop owners (See example Shoplifting Surveillance). Another problem is when employees steals money from the cash register. To prevent this from happening you can have the  Camera Server to register what happens each time the cash register is open. The Camera Server will take pictures and store them for future analysis.
If for some reason there is money missing you can check the image history to find the bad guy, if any. With this approach the employees don’t have to feel watched all the time as they would with a standard CCTV system.

Description

When the cashier opens the cash register, the Camera Server automatically starts to take pictures, and store them on an ftp server. It will continue to do so until the cash register closes.

Configurations

Before you can use your Camera Server you have to configure its settings according to the manual, especially the TCP/IP settings. You must also make sure the camera has access to an ftp server on your network and that the server is properly configured. For instance, the Camera Server must have privileges to write data on the ftp server.
